"Save Profile Details" deleting info, reverting to old save

  I put some placeholder text in when I was creating my profile the other day, and now I want to change it to a real “about me.” I type in what I want, hit “Save Profile Details” and when I do, it gives me a nice green banner with a check mark that says “Settings saved successfully!”

  But actually, it deletes all the stuff I wrote in and reverts back to the placeholder text every time! I’ve tried this several different times both on Firefox and Chrome.

  Weirdly, when I click “your profile” (in the little snippet “This information will be displayed publicly on your profile and in Gravatar Hovercards.”) the information is there and correct, but won’t show up in WordPress correctly. I have given it some time, in case it needs a while to update, but it seems like half an hour should be enough. It’s still stuck on the placeholder text.
