Saving blog for posterity

  • Unknown's avatar

I’ve stopped writing in my journal (old fashioned pen and ink on paper) and only write in my blog now. I’d like to be able to copy my entire blog onto some kind of digital media (CD disc) for posterity. How would I do that?

    Please advise. Thanks.

You can easily export an xml file of data of your blog (posts, pages, etc) but that is only really useful if you plan to transfer it to another WordPress site, or a different blogging platform. You cannot read it as is. Would this still be of interest to you? It’s very simple: from the dashboard go to tools, export, then click the export button, and your done. This is useful for backing up your site as well.

Actually there are any number of sites that will take an XML file and make an actual physical book out of it, or you can use it to create a Blogspot or other blog.

There are a few sites that will make a PDF file or a book of your blog – can’t remember their names – but look around on timethief’s site and you should find some info on how to do it (she helps in the forum regular like)
