When using the theme customizer please be sure you are using one of the browsers and versions found here http://browsehappy.com and also be sure you have enabled third party cookies. http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
NOTE: If you do not have a CSS uopgrade skip using the theme customizer. All of the very same functions can be accessed from your dashboard.
Appearance > Header
Appearance > Background
Appearance > Theme Options (applicable only to some themes)
Settings > Reading (set a static front page)
Site Title and Tagline > Settings > GeneralDo understand that no changes you try out aside from those such as Custom Background, Custom Header and Theme Options which are stated on the theme description pages for each theme will be visible to visitors unless you purchase an annually renewable custom design upgrade?

@designsimply Hi there, it’s the same for me, and I’m using Google Reader with 3rd party cookies enabled!

@tweedlingdum, did you mean Google Chrome instead of Google Reader? Can you try clearing your browser cache and checking it again after that for me?
-
@designsimply I’m also having this issue. My blog url is http://www.mommysabroad.wordpress.com. I’ve already tried clearing the cache and cookies. As well I’ve tried a different browser with no avail.

@nikichia, I checked your blog and found that it was in the “try now” mode for Custom Design. I turned that off for you. Can you try saving changes again now?

@designsimply I am, unfortunately, also having this issue. My blog URL is http://sixmeasures.wordpress.com. I’ve cleared the cache and have tried using two different browsers (Chrome and Safari).
Would very much appreciate any assistance.

@designsimply
Thanks! I figured out that my popup blocker was blocking the message that changing my colours required an upgrade. So now I know that if I want to change colours that I need to buy the customizer! Problem solved :) -
If changing colors requires an upgrade, why does it function with some themes but not others?

@juleslapierre, apologies for the delay in reply.

Are you still having trouble saving changes via Appearance > Customize in your blog dashboard? If you are, could you let me know an example of a change you tried to make (i.e. switch the color palette)?

There are a couple themes that don’t have colors support yet, and there are a couple that have built in color rules that don’t make sense for the custom colors feature (like Duotone). If you have a question about custom colors support for a specific theme, let me know which one and I can look into it.
