My blog, Top of JC’s Mind, https://topofjcsmind.wordpress.com/ will be ten years old tomorrow! To celebrate, I’ve upgraded to Premium and chose the domain address joannecorey.com to make it easier to find for people who know me as a poet. (My first book was published a few months ago.) I’ve done basic pages and have a link in the main menu to my blog.
I would love to be able to back up the ten years of blog posts. Is that something that I can do with my premium plan. Will my https://topofjcsmind.wordpress.com/ always remain active? I hope so, because it’s been plastered in my correspondence, bios, etc. for years. I’m occasionally terrified of accidentally deleting the site and not having any way to retrieve it.

Hi there,
First and foremost, congratulations on reaching such a milestone. That’s a fantastic achievement!
Rest assured, all your blog’s content is securely backed up on our servers. Even if you change plans or if your Premium plan expires, the content is safe and sound.
Your original blog address will always remain active. You can count on that. Our Free plan never expires, so you don’t have to worry about losing your content.
While we ensure your content is safe on our end, it’s totally understandable to want a local copy for your own peace of mind. If you wish to have a local backup, you can easily export your content. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you with that: https://wordpress.com/support/export/
Let me know if you have any other questions, and I’ll be happy to help.

Thanks so much for the information. I hadn’t understood that you had everything backed up on your servers.
Does that mean that even if someone maliciously gained access and deleted my blog that you would be able to restore it from your servers?
With thanks,
Joanne -
Hi @joannecorey, if someone logged in with your account and deleted your entire site, you’d have 30 days to contact us about restoring it.
I’d recommend enabling 2FA on your account, though, so that no one can log in as you. Here’s how to set that up.
I’d recommend this article, which shows how we secure your site, and what you can do, too:
