Saving Draft Failed Scrolling Issues
-
I’m using the WordPress editor to write my posts (via Jetpack and the REST API). The auto-save function sometimes fails to save the draft to my website. This is fine by itself, but instead of quietly retrying – it scrolls the whole page to the top.
Failing to save the draft should not scroll the page. This interrupts the flow of writing. Also, it’s absolutely pointless since the error box is fixed to the screen and visible. Hopefully, it’s a bug :D
I’ve tested the behavior on Chrome, Safari, and the WordPress App. I tested it both on macOS Sierra & Windows 10.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Since you are using JetPack to connect your WordPress.ORG site to your WordPress.COM account.Maybe there is some plugin that is causing the issue. Try disabling the plugins(from your WordPress.ORG dashbaord) and see if the problem still persists.
It it does, write your posts using the WordPress.ORG post editor and see if you can replicate the problem there.
Let us know if it helps 🙂

The issue is with the WordPress.org editor. It scrolls up when there is an error. This is an unwanted behavior.
The sync issue could be caused by a plugin (not too likely), but most likely it’s network issues. If there is a log I can check to confirm that, I can do that too.

If the issue is with the WordPress.ORG editor then i would suggest you to post your question on the WordPress.ORG forum: https://wordpress.org/support/
Because this forum only supports the site hosted on WordPress.COM and not elsewhere.
Thanks! 🙂

Sorry, I meant WordPress.com. I just now realize there are two websites. I’ll try the WordPress.Org editor, then. Thanks.
