Saving Editor-preference in a Cookie is a REALLY bad idea

I understand from searching the forum that you store my browser preference in a cookie. You have a preference data base (look under “settings” from any blog’s dashboard.

Using cookies assumes that I always use the same computer. That I never use a public computer. And probably a few other things that you are assuming.

Also, as far as I can tell, your “new and improved” editor doesn’t use the same cookie value as the old one.

I have elected to keep your cookies around forever – for now. But I shouldn’t have to. You should store all of my settings under “settings: editor” and be done with it. Or have you never considered standards? (Why isn’t everything stored as a cookie?)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Thanks for that feedback! I’ll pass along your suggestion to save your editor preference in settings, so our team can consider that as an alternative to saving it as a cookie.
