saving export file

I want to transfer blog 1. wp to blog 2.wp. I ve gone thru all the “export” threads…and I need basic info here since I am a novice at this sort of thing, how do I save the export file??? I have no “save as” option. I am running on OS 10.4.10…

It should save it as an XML file, I would think, but am not 100% sure. I’m assuming you checked the FAQ. Here’s a related forum thread, in case that helps.

Yes you just export the xml file to your own desktop and then import. Please note the blogroll is a separate transaction. Also note that will not transfer the images which is a right click kind of thing. :)

I went through this a few months ago. It takes forever to save, and one really has to be patient and not interrupt the process, or else you don’t get the whole file.
For the blogroll, I followed the instructions given here http://1isa2isb.com/export-blogroll-from-wordpresscom/
Not really easy, but much easier than copying and pasting loads of urls. HTH -
It shouldnt take forever. On broadband at least its like lightening. If it does take forever then something is wrong temporarily with the process.
