Saving header image

  • Unknown's avatar

    I have been using wordpress for more than 10 years. I want to change the theme but I can not find a way to save the current header image before I do. When I go to customized ==> header image it says that there is no current image set in the header but that is not the case. I also looked in the library and can not find a copy of the image. Thoughts on how I can save the image in the header so I can reuse with a new theme? Thank you.

    Hi,

    I obtained the same error message (“No image set”) at Customize > Header Image on a test site with the Twenty Eleven theme applied that you did, even though I had a header image set and displayed. There seems to be a glitch. After I switched to another header image and switched back the image now displayed where it previously said “No image set” and I was unable to duplicate the error afterwards. I’ll tag the topic for staff attention. Staff will respond here.

    Here’s your hearder image: https://marketinggreen.files.wordpress.com/2019/05/cropped-img_38551_1.jpg, which I got by simply right clicking on the image and choosing (in Firefox) “View Image.” You should be able to save it by right clicking and selecting “Save Image as…,” the corresponding selection in another browser, or by whatever method you’re accustomed to.

  • Hi there,

    Looks like you managed to switch to another theme while retaining the same header image.

    Let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you. I’m happy to help.

    @fstat,

    Did you see my report of what seems to be a glitch in Twenty Eleven?

    Actually “bug” is what I meant to call it. I suspect that it’s a bug rather than a glitch.
