Saving images from my Media Library

    I noticed in one of the forum questions, a staff member answered that it is possible to backup your media by saving the files from the Media Library or by importing them into a self-hosted WordPress installation. However, I cannot figure out how to do this.

    Can you please tell me how I can download these images for preservation?

    There is no way to download your Media Library content except by creating an export file of your blog content. The only way to do this would be to export your site content as described here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/export
    NOTE: Your Media Library content is an attachment file and when you import that file you are asked if you want to include it or not.
