saving post … but instead it sends u to the login page (and bye-bye post)

it’s not a happy feeling after working on my article, then going to save and continue editing…and it instead the login page opens up. So you log in but then instead of logically bringing you back to the page you were working on it’s gone. no forwarding or backtracking finds the past two hours of work. yes, usually i save repeatedly but i was on a role, getting lots of research done. and usually it saves automatically, but in this case no such luck. why would it be set up to lose all your work when you need to re-log in. I’m so tired and bummed right now. Back to the bookmarks and the unpleasant process of retracing my steps, trying to redo everything as I did it b4 — which always takes longer. oh, my specific “support question”… Can you please rub my neck, my feet, run a bath, offer kind words… it probably won’t help but it can’t hurt. thanks.

How long are we talking about here? Cookies do expire and would force you to login again, but it would be at least a day (not sure how long cookies last) but never right away. You are talking about a wordpress.com hosted blog as well right? Have you tried another browser or before you “walk away” for a bit hitting the “save” button for backup?

We’ve all written a post and see it disappear when you hit publish – but save? Never seen that.

It might be a faulty connection you work from. Even the best companies have fall outs. A blink in the electricity can be enough. Best thing is to use an editor such as Qumana.

Also: always hit Ctrl+A before clicking Save or Publish. Then you have a copy in your mouse.
I wonder if that function could be build into WordPress? So that when we hit Publish or Save the system should ask: allow WP to access your clipboard? When other sites can do that why not WP?

I feel bad for you. Other than simple consolations, I can give some advice: always do Control A Control C (ie select all, copy all) before hitting either Save or Publish.
