Saving vs publishin
-
I am just beginning to take a look at WordPress and would like to know if I can save pages without publishing them until I have the site as I want it?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Of course you can.
The theme you’re using might already have some preset pages. What you need to do is access each page you want to unpublished by going here: https://wordpress.com/pages/
Click through to the page, and on the right panel just below your site name, you will see a gear icon with the text PUBLISHED next to it. Click on this, and a Revert to Draft button will appear. When you click this, your page will not be publicly displayed, but the content of your page will still be there.
If you want to, you can also hide your entire blog by setting it to private. Once you’re logged in go to My Site → Settings and look for Privacy. Choose the option Private.

I apologize for the editing mistake I’ve made in the post above. If anything is unclear, simply let me know :)

@manitoumanor – If your site is not ready to be made Public (either to visitors or search engines) you may wish to consider keeping your entire site privacy settings Private until you are. Here’s more about site privacy. https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
The reason is that if you publish your content as drafts, you won’t actually see it on your site while you are setting it up. Only published posts and pages will display. Having some of your own content in place is also very helpful if you want to explore different themes.
Let us know if you want more information about that.
