Scale an image
-
The image support page under ‘Image Guide’ and then ‘Editing Images’ says it will show how to ‘scale your images’, but it doesn’t. The media folder crops every image into a square. If I try to edit the image, there’s no option to scale it. When I place the image, it’s sides get cut off. Do I have to use trial and error to size the image for WordPress to make sure it doesn’t get auto-cropped?

Hello there. Are you trying to scale the images at the Media Library or the Block Editor?
For me it’s not showing the Edit Image button at the Media Library. But I can do all the editing I need at the Block Editor, including scale the image.
The guide you mentioned if for the Media Library. To see how to edit an image at the Block Editor, go to Image Block article. -
Thank you for the suggestion, but I must be doing something wrong. The block editor is great. The image looks fine on the editor page, but previewing the page still cuts off the image.
