Scam artist email address needs your attention
-
I’ve tried reporting this in the last four days, but have not had a response. A scam is different from a spam, but it needs to be attended to. I’ve tried contacting WP, but have been led back to this form and have been promised a response.
I need to report a scam whereby the scammer seems to have a legit WP site, but whose email is a company the Better Business Bureau, the BBB, reports as a scam, along with other reporters on the internet search results. How can I report this scam to protect others?
I understand that the name of the WP blog site and the blogger’s email are to be kept private, but I am able to provide that information when you contact me. Thank you for caring.

Terms of Service Staff always have a backlog. You simply have to report the site and then wait patiently for a response.
Complaints like this one are not dealt with on public support forums. Only Terms of Service Staff have authority in such cases.
Abuse – Freedom of Speech:

Also, note that the complaint process here requires whoever has been defamed to make the complaint. You cannot do that on behalf of anyone else.

Hi TimeThief,
I cannot see that any of the provided links will be helpful. I am not reporting spam, adult content, abusive content, self-harm possibilities, or copyright infringement. I am reporting a potential SCAM.
I am reporting what appears to be a legitimate blog site — angelaschua . wordpress.com — but the email address of the blogger — jacas_enterprises @ hotmail.com — is reported by the Better Business Bureau and a number of watchdog web sites to be a scam operation that has raked in big-time bucks.
In my little brain a red flag went up. This kind of scam might be rather hard for WordPress to detect with the parameters they are using. So, I am attempting to report it before other bloggers and readers get scammed. One has to do an internet search on Jacas_Enterprises and check out the Better Business Bureau rating, along with what the other web sites are reporting.
I sure do thank you for caring and doing your part to keep bloggers and readers safe. I am not replying to the comment this blogger left me, so that you can see her email address and take care of things appropriately.

You can always email staff for support ay
(email visible only to moderators and staff)
or
`support@wordpress.com’
but I already tagged this thread for Staff so they will most likely email you. -
Thank you very much, TimeThief. I’ll just wait for your tag for the Staff to be recognized and hope to hear from them.

Boy did I ever blog both of those email addresses. I apologize for being in a hurry and making silly mistakes.
The correct ones are:
help@wordpress.com
and
support@wordpress.comStaff work through all threads tagged with modlook in datestamp order. They address the threads with the earliest dates first and move forward to the most recent ones, as expected. All you need is patience.

I’m puzzled. With my concern, I first wrote a note to the forum. When I had no reply, I emailed support@wordpress.com. Then I got a notice on my Dashboard that support@wordpress.com was no longer being used and I needed to go through the forum. That is when I wrote the above request and got a reply from you.
This process has taken four days so far. I’ve never tried help@wordpress.com. Just hope the staff will get things straightened out or sets me straight. : )
Thank you.

Hi there,
Thank you for your patience.
I checked the blog in question and as you said it appears to be a legitimate blog. I also checked the e-mail address and nothing came up for me as a red flag. Can you provide any links regarding the scam you are referring to?
Even if the e-mail address is associated with a scam, the blog itself isn’t violating the Terms of Service from what I see. It is not selling any illegal products and the content doesn’t appear to be misleading in any way. If there is a post or content on the actual site that you believe is associated with the alleged scam, please provide those links and I will be happy to take a look.
Of course, if you have any questions, let me know.
Thanks!

Hi Darnell,
I did another search for jacas enterprises. Lo and behold! The search results are now all different. The Better Business Bureau results cannot be found. None of the watch dog sites can be found. I cannot fathom it. All this within a week’s time. How can that be???
It makes me wish I had been diligent to save all those links before. To me this is very strange — but I know what a saw on those websites.
The only thing I can say is that I am no longer responsible for not reporting the evidence that existed a week ago. Only WordPress and these strange, changing circumstances are responsible.
How is it that google and other search sites can no longer find searches regarding jacas enterprises and the Better Business Bureau — along with several watch dog site reports? It’s a puzzlement for which I am not responsible.
I leave it all in your hands. Hope you have a good day. And, hope this doesn’t keep me awake at night. I’m tired of scams.

Hi there,
Thank you for doing your due diligence. I know that your heart is in the right place in regards to keeping the WordPress community safe. We appreciate that.
It is indeed very unusual for search results to change that quickly. Even if someone went out their way to contact Google to get rid of search results, it takes a while to do that – and it would be unusual for them to get every link removed. I’ll dig a bit further.
I’ll keep an eye on this. Thanks.

Thank you, Darnell,
I was a wee bit upset when writing the above comment. I’m sorry for sounding so off key. It had just boggled my mind to be unable to find any of the results that I had seen before — especially the Better Business Bureau link.
Just, thank you — and I appreciate your care. Have a great day.

Thank you as well, Margaret.
Again, we appreciate your concern for our community.
Have a great day as well!
