Scam: (email visible only to moderators and staff)

  Dear WP Staff

  I’ve recently received an email from following address:
  (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  saying that my domain is gonna expire soon.
  However, I’ve checked at “Manage Purchase”,
  which said the domain will renew on 8 March 2018.
  So I consider this as a scam. Just so WP would know this happened.

  Just saw the email is filtered.
  For other WP user, you might receive emails titled
  Re: (your address) Expiration SEO

  Thanks for trying to be safe on the internet. As you see the subject of the email says Expiration SEO it’s marketing tactics by few companies to lure you into buying their services.

  Hi there, You can see the email was not sent from a @wordpress.com email address. As @akumarjain mentioned, this comes from a company trying to get you to purchase their services and they found your email address through your domain WHOIS information.

  Since you purchased your domain through WordPressdotcom, if you are interested, you can enable privacy following this support guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/register-domain/#enabling-privacy-later
