Scammer might be trying to take my website (kylemirror.com)

Hi, my name is Kyle. I met this person, Jared Como (leeaux), and he helped me start a word press website. Which is currently kylemirror.com. He recently did something to my website without my permission or knowledge that disconnected all widgets from my website after I wouldn’t give him money. I am unable to edit my website either. I believe he changed me to an ‘editor’ on my own website, instead of administrator. I’m worried that my website is going to be stolen. Can I fix this?

Is there a way to claim ownership of kylemirror.com?? and remove him from his ability to edit my website?
I have no idea how he has permission to edit my website. My email that I used was (email visible only to moderators and staff) and I thought this was the sole login to the account and there was no other person accessible to it besides me.

Should I delete the website completely? And then start over? Would that take away his editing capabilities? I am stressed, please let me know how I should improve my situation.

    Hey Kyle!

Yes, deleting your site and starting over–and not sharing your login credentials–removes everyone else’s ability to access your website. But if by starting over, you mean restoring from a backup, then that may not work.

I hope this helps, but as an aside, you are posting in the wrong support forum. It is a common mistake. This forum supports sites hosted with WordPress.com where your site is hosted with NameCheap.

There are similar support forums for sites like yours at WordPress.org. Going forward, this is the better resource if you are seeking WordPress help:
