Schedule vs Publish

I was recently successfully informed as to how to change from schedule to publish. However, now I find it won’t publish immediately, telling me instead that it is an invalid date!
The calendar says today’s date and time… -

I don’t see any scheduled posts on that site, so can I assume you figured this out?
Make sure that your site timezone and your computer’s timezone is the same, and make sure your computer is configured to update to the correct time automatically. A mismatch between your computer’s time and your site’s time can lead to an error like what you describe.

Thank you – I will check the clock as mine is about a minute ahead – also it is on 24-hour time so I don’t know if that affects anything? It usually gets scheduled for about a minute ahead so maybe it is the clock after all!

24h vs 12h shouldn’t make any difference, but if the posts get scheduled for a minute ahead when you try to publish immediately that sounds like a time mismatch, yes.

Makes sense, but I can;t work out how to do it. It still says invalid date. I have checked the time zone and it is right, but the clock is not in synch with my computer which I have on automatic time setting.
I am also starting to get problems with posting photos too – the system seems to
have changed without me doing anything to it! I will just have to use schedule and put up with it.Annoying, as it shouldn’t be like this, but it is not the end of the world :-)

The timezone for your site is set as Bangkok. Is that correct? And your computer is on the same timezone? Looks like that would be ICT/UTC+7.
To make sure I understand correctly, this happens when you just try to publish immediately, even if you haven’t touched the date/time settings at all?
It’s certainly annoying, and we’re happy to keep troubleshooting this with you to find what’s causing it.
I am also starting to get problems with posting photos too
Can you tell me what happens when you try to post a photo? Is there a problem when you try to upload it?

Yes, Bkk is the time zone and what came up – like I said, it is a minute – or sometimes two – out with my computer, not by hours ie not by a whole time zone.
All I ever used to do was hit publish and it would work. Then one day I could not get into my site using my profile name, only by my email address. Then this happened.
Now when I go to put on photos, it automatically tries to put them all on unless I unclick those order numbers. Then when I go into a new photo to put on, sometimes there is another one already numbered as 1 and I have to make sure I remove that number first.Never used to be like this at all!
Thanks for not giving up on me! I hate it when things SHOULD be able to be solved but end up being worked around rather than sorted properly. :-)

Are you using Windows? Under the time settings, do you see the option for more than one source to use for automated time settings? Does it help at all to switch that?

You should be able to use either your email address or username. Do you get an error when logging in with your username? What method/steps do you usually use to log in?

I’m afraid I don’t understand what you’re describing. Could you outline the steps you follow for me? Then I can check if I’m able to replicate what you’re seeing if I follow the same steps.

Sorry – just found your reply in Junk mail!!!
1 – Windows 10
2 – Will have a look at the time settings thing.
3 – Usually I just click on my WordPress icon and go straight in but on this new puter every now and then I have to re-login to any apps. But the password etc is stored on my puter so I just click on continue. Now I just use my email but maybe I will try the user name again.
4 – EG I add new photos into the gallery that I can choose from to put into the blog post. It used to upload them all then as I chose a specific photo it would say 1, 2, 3 etc in teh corner, in the order I chose the photos. Now when it uploads, say, 8 photos – just into the gallery not the post – they all have numbers and I have to unclick those numbers first in order to have a clean sheet with which to choose the photo I want in the post.
Say I add 3 photos to that post, they will be numbered 1, 2, 3 then I click on continue and insert.
When I go to add new photos, there is now often one photo (that I have already posted) with a number 1 on it, that I have to click to remove first or I end up repeating the photos,Does this make sense? I am beginning to confuse myself!!

Can you take a few screenshots of what exactly you’re seeing when you upload the images so I can have a look and better understand what’s going on? You can upload those screenshots in your Media Library and I’ll be able to see them. Here’s how to take a screenshot:

I don’t understand how to get the photo onto here! Can I explain in words instead?
I am selecting 3 photos for a cluster in a post. So that means one photo has a 1 in it, the second a 2, the third a 3. Then I press continue and then insert. All ok.
Then I move on in my post and want to insert, say 4 more photos, but when I go into my gallery to select them, one of the previous 3 photos that I just used already is selected with a 1 in it.
Never used to happen before. :-)
