Scheduled blog posts don't appear on blog or Twitter at scheduled time

    Hi. I’m new-ish to WordPress after getting used to it I’ve made my blog ‘public’ now. I schedule posts to be published at a particular time on a particular day. I’ve now also linked my blog to my Twitter account and arranged for my latest post to be promoted on there when it was published. However, I checked my blog without logging into WordPress via a google search and my Twitter account a couple of hours after the scheduled time, and the post wasn’t there. Then, when I came into my WordPress account and checked there, for some reason the post suddenly appeared on the Twitter feed and on the blog. Why is this? How can I be sure blog posts are published according to my schedule? Am I doing something wrong?
