scheduled post has not published

    Hi, I scheduled a post last night to go public today and it has not posted. It is not even in my ‘posts’ folder. Is there anything I can do?

    Hello there!

    The following could be the reasons behind the issue you are facing:

    1) Are you sure you scheduled the post? Normally, when a post is scheduled, it shows up in the Posts section, and if it is not, it should be im your drafts. Maybe the scheduling process did not happen, and that could be the reason why your post is not showing up. In case you ate still unable to find it, you may search for it in the posts section.

    2) In case you are 100% positive that the post was indeed scheduled, there could be an issue with the default timezone of your blog By default, all WordPress.com blogs have the timezone of UTC. I.e. Your scheduled post would publish only by UTC time.You can change it in the Settings > General section of your WordPress dashboard and choose the timezone of your location. Your scheduled posts will publish on time, henceforth.

    3) Scheduled post publication is triggered the first visitor clicking into your blog after your post was scheduled. And that is stated in the support doc here http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/schedule-a-post/
    It will still state that it was posted on the time and date that you specified, but it will not actually go up until someone visits your site. So perhaps, your post was correctly scheduled, but was not posted becuause of this reason.

    I want to publish a post immediately, and I click on publish immediately, but for some reason my post goes to scheduled posts and does not show up on my blog. Why?

    Check your timezone settings please.

    The default timezone is UTC time. You can confirm or reset your timezone here > Settings > General. There you select the closest city to you in the same timezone in the drop-down menu and then click “save changes”.

    If you are logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog this is what you see here

    Choose a city in the same timezone as you.
    “save changes”
