Scheduled posts are not publishing

    Hi Jeremy,

Sorry it took so long to get back to you- I have been off in the woods and decided not to worry about the blog while I was gone. I sort of hoped things would fix themselves if I left them alone. But they didn’t.

I just did a scheduled post and it did the same thing- linked to my angeloleary blog. So I deleted it and manually posted. That worked perfectly and maybe should be what I do. It’s not the ideal solution because I have so 1099 more posts to put up in the next 10 months.

I was thinking maybe I should transfer my Angel O’Leary blog like I did the I-90 Project then delete my original account all together. Could you set it up for me to transfer?

    Thank you!

    Hey Angel,

I’m so sorry this hasn’t resolved at all. Believe me, it’s frustrating me as well!

I chatted with our Partnership folks that are in charge of our Facebook integration. The tough thing is we don’t know how long Facebook caches this information for. It should link your byline to the following meta tag in the article:

    meta property="article:author"

So, when I run the Facebook Debugger on one of your article URLs, I see this:

    <meta property="article:author" content="http://i90project.com/author/angeloleary/" />

Here is where I’m pulling that information from:

    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object?q=http%3A%2F%2Fi90project.com%2F2014%2F08%2F21%2Fmile-93%2F

So, the link in the byline should be pointing to i90project.com. This kind of stuff normally gets cached, and updated infrequently. However, running the debugger should cause the cache to refresh, meaning this would be fixed. Alternatively, time would help it fix itself.

The bad news is that time hasn’t corrected this yet, and it’s been quite awhile. I don’t know if this is an issue with Facebook getting “stuck” or just not enough time elapsing for this to be reset. Either way, I cannot guarantee that changing accounts would fix this at all. So, I would hate for you to go through all of that effort and lose the username angeloleary just to be in the same spot. Does that make sense?

That does make sense, and I had decided to just wait it out.

So I turned off the facebook sharing settings – both on the posts and in the full site sharing section. I had decided to copy and paste one post a day. But it’s still sharing on facebook despite all the share settings being turned off. Now I am having to delete posts that have gone out with the link I don’t want.

I really need this to stop because it’s confusing and really presenting my project as being disorganized.

    Hi Angel!

I apologize for the frustration. I went ahead and disconnected the Facebook account from our blog. Google + and Twitter are still connected. However, the post shouldn’t share to Facebook any longer.

That’s great, thank you. I think I will just go ahead with my plan to manually post once daily now and not worry anymore about the automatic sharing.

You’ve been really helpful and patient trying to work this out- it’s nice to know that WordPress has such good customer service.

I have one last question- since I will not be doing the automatic sharing, could you disconnect the facebook account from my Angel O’Leary blog?

I was thinking that since I am not going to be sharing to facebook there is no reason to have my two blogs on separate accounts anymore. I was about to start posting on the Angel O’Leary blog again and it’s sort of a hassle to log in and out completely depending upon which site I am working on. So if you don’t think it will mess anything up I would like to move the I-90 Project blog back to my original account.

    Hey Angel!

    See below:

Looks like you may have already done this. If not, please let me know!

So if you don’t think it will mess anything up I would like to move the I-90 Project blog back to my original account.

Yep! I can do this for you. However, I’ll need you to submit a request from the i90project account since the blog is no longer owned by angeloleary. It’s a mechanism we have in place to prevent fraud attempts!
