Scheduled Posts Delayed (Not posting until sign in)

When I schedule a post it doesn’t post when scheduled. It posts the next time I go to my dashboard (often hours later). This is for a blog I started a couple weeks ago. I’ve never had the issue on my main blog (geoffwhaley.com)

Are you sure that you have had traffic in the time period between the publish time and the time that you log in? Scheduled posts will be triggered by the first visit to your blog on or after the exact date/time you set. If you see that the scheduled time has come and gone and your post has not published, simply log out of WordPress.com and view your blog’s front page. Your visit should cause the post to appear.

I’ve generally checked it after that time period, usually from an incognito or another browser, so that I can verify while not signed in.
I also wasn’t aware that scheduled posts depended on traffic could you tell me where it states that? I’ve never once had this problem on my other blog it posts at the time I schedule it, give or take 5 minutes.

How is that a scheduled post? If I had to visit my own blog wouldn’t I just click publish right at the time? The whole point was for it to post at a specific time.
The name is incredibly misleading considering this is a brand new blog and the traffic is light. The point is for it to be pushed out to other social media to eventually build the traffic.
Is there a work around other than physically having to go to the website?

It is a long standing debate in the WordPress world. Both in .com and .org. It has a lot to do with server resources. There is not any way around it on WordPress.com and there is no good/safe way around it on WordPress.org.

I can definitely see that. I just assumed they rolled out based on when the server got around to them (my primary blog rarely sees a delay more than 5-10 minutes).
