Scheduled Posts Not Posting?

I’ve schedules several posts, but they don’t post when they’re supposed to. It’s only when I open up my admin panel that they get published. What’s the deal?

How much traffic does your blog have?

Scheduled Posts post when the first visitor after the scheduled time visits, the time stamp is then set to the scheduled time (no matter what the actual time the Post was published).

So if nobody visits your blog your scheduled Post will not be published.

My scheduled post will not publish, no matter what I do. I’ve visited my page, entered the dashboard and changed the schedule time and day to now several times. Please can someone help me publish my post!

The time needs to be in the future, the clock is 24 hours, is your blog in your own time zone or is it still at the default of UTC 0000 (London, England)?

The default timezone is UTC time. You can reset your timezone here > Settings > General Select the closest city to you in the same timezone in the drop-down menu you see there and then click “save changes”.

Note as auxclass already said scheduled post publication is triggered the first visitor clicking into your blog after your post was scheduled. And that is stated in the support doc here http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/schedule-a-post/
It will still state that it was posted on the time and date that you specified, but it will not actually go up until someone visits your site.

@timethief Yes I did read “schedule-a-post” before posting in this forum. On waking up this morning I discovered that my post had been published sometime within the last 9 hours.

@auxclass, thanks, my time zone should be for London, England. I’ll take a look.

Hi there, as auxclass mentioned, when you Schedule a Post it will appear on your blog when someone visits your blog after the scheduled publish date/time.

@tashasface – It sounds like your scheduled post was published, but if you continue to have any trouble with this please let me know the title of the scheduled post and I’d be happy to take a look for you. :)
