Scheduling
-
Hello
Both my friend and I, using different computers, have both found that the scheduling for our blog is not working and has happened twice in a week. How can we fix this?
Many thanks
Natalie

Scheduled Posts are only published when someone visits a blog – so if nobody visits then a Post will not be published until a visitor shows up – when someone visits and a Post is published the time is set to the scheduled time – even if the Post was actually published an hour late.
Look on Scheduled as publish for first visitor after the scheduled time
Did you get any error messages?

I tried to visit my own blog from signing out, there was no publication.
Does WordPress recognize my computer?
The problem has occurred Tuesday and this morning. I have attempted to publish at 9am, signing out to view blog, and nothing has published.
The blog I need help with is brockbuchanan.wordpress.com
Thank you

The most recent post I see is: Wednesday Wittiness: A Game of Questions – is that the correct one?
Basic question: is your blog time set to your time zone?
Dashboard >> Settings >> General >> Pick a city in your time zone

Aux, I’ve scheduled numerous posts for just after midnight (both on .com and .org) and they’ve all published without any visitors. Maybe searchbots are considered visitors?
-
I sometimes wake up at 3 or 4 AM and check via the Dashboard where I can see that the post count has gone up without refreshing the site itself.
-
Bots might trigger publishing – I went through to documentation one time to see how things worked and it officially was on a visitor (saves on cpu time – they don’t need to run a scheduler) – I am suspicious that RSS readers will also cause publishing – I did test this a couple of times on one of my sites and I also see the different times emails are sent on another site that I subscribe to and this is how the publish works – the times on the emails are all a bit different

Aux, my ignorance has revealed itself. :)
Time zone wasn’t set correctly-apologies.
Thank you!
