Scheduling Errors Not Allowing Updraft Backup

  • Unknown's avatar

Suddenly my Updraft backup is not working. I keep seeing this error:

‘Warning: WordPress has a number (46) of scheduled tasks which are overdue. Unless this is a development site, this means that the scheduler in your WordPress install is not working properly.’

I have followed instructions from Updraft but nothing has worked. I have contacted Bluehost, and they could not help. They asked that I contact WordPress to see why the scheduled tasks are having issues and also why it is affecting my backup process.

Any ideas how to fix? It’s been working fine all this time…

  • Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out to us at WordPress.com. I can understand how frustrating it can be when things don’t go as planned with your website.

However, your site is not hosted on our WordPress.com managed hosting, but instead is on a different hosting provider and is using the free open-source version of the software.

Our managed hosting on WordPress.com includes comprehensive support for issues directly on sites we host and has several benefits, including performance optimization, strong security measures, automated backups, and much more.

You can learn more about our hosting service here: https://wordpress.com/hosting/

That being said, since your website is not hosted at WordPress.com, our ability to assist you directly with this issue, as you’ve described, is limited. Although, this doesn’t mean you’re left without support.

We have a very useful migration plugin that would allow you to easily move your site to our hosting. This transition would ultimately enable us to offer you our direct support.
