Scheduling missmatch

Anyone having issues with scheduling a post?

Specifically, the written date not matching the calendar date?

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,
I just scheduled a post on my test site without an issue on my end. I did notice that the calendar date is set to UTC, and then when you view the time on the post edit, it is set to my current time zone. For me, it was 7:27 am and 2:27 am, respectively. Is that what you are referring to?

Well, I’m not sure because the issue resolved itself without me having to do anything, but that seems plausible.

    First a quick definition:
-calendar graphic means the graphic display of the monthly calendar showing all 31 days with little dots indicating days with posts, and where you can click on the day you want the post scheduled (showing up as a solid-shaded square for the chosen date).
    – the text option is where you instead type in the date.

The disconnect was that the text portion and the calendar portion didn’t match.

This is a description of my experience:
    1) click on the ‘immediately’ option for publishing
    2) pick a time in the dialog that opens up (I chose 5:05 AM)
    3) click on the day on the calendar graphic (in my case, I picked the 28th of May)
    4) the date would then show up as 5:05 AM on the 27th of May.
    5) click on the date to open the dialog again, and this time pick the date by manually entering 28th of May. That now showed the desired date and time, but the calendar graphic showed the post on the 29th.

At the time, I tried exiting and going back in, and I tried using a different browser.

The idea that it was the UTC differential is plausible, but I have no way to test it now since it resolved itself.

By resolved itself, I mean that I sent support an email (chat wasn’t available) and posted this comment. I then went to do some chores as I waited for an answer. A few hours later, when I opened the post and tried scheduling it, everything worked fine, with both the graphic and the text portion of the schedule matching.

I suspect a glitch at WP rather than at my end since it showed up on two different browsers and then resolved itself without me making any changes.

    Thanks for the reply,

    ejd

Just to be clear, these two didn’t match.
