  My blog is by my year 5 students from a public school in NSW Australia. I am worried that some advertisement content may appear on our blog page and it may be inappropriate for young school students. Can we do something about this?

  Hi there. Advertising on our blogs are generally only shown to logged-out users, and a logged-in user should never see it on their own blog. If you do see advertising you think is inappropriate you can report it by clicking the “About these ads” link that appears with the ad, though I can tell you I’ve never seen advertisements I’d consider inappropriate on a WP.com site.

  However, there is no way to control pro-actively which advertisements are shown or not. Your only option in that regard is the No Ads upgrade which will prevent any ads from displaying, but that upgrade can only be bought as part of the Premium or Business package. https://en.support.wordpress.com/no-ads/
