Scraping and Inputting Into WordPress database
-
I’ve looked through all the docs as well as sites like Stack Overflow, and I can’t find anything about manipulating databases, whether connecting Word Press to a local database I can configure myself or different ways to add to the remote database. I’m trying to scrape multiple sites and compile them into mine, and I can’t figure out the best way to do that. Any help or direction would be appreciated.

Hi
You would check wordpress.org and considering self host your blog.
WordPress.com doesn’t allow you to manipulate de databases directly, but if you install WordPress on your server, you should be able to do everything!

That is not allowed on WordPress.com and can get your site suspended, aside from it possibly violating copyright of the original website owners, making it illegal as well. In other words, we’re definitely not going to help you do it in this forum.

Scraping public, government forms and information is not illegal (which I would be doing). At my current job at a law school (which I’m sure is aware of all the legalities surrounding this), we scrape and organize information from SEC filings. Don’t judge people based on assumptions that are wrong.
