Scraping/Splogging
-
For a while now, I’ve been getting every post I make re-posted at http://mblogchannel.tumblr.com …they don’t even appear to be running ads, and they DO link back to me, but it’s obviously automated BS. This blog re-uses everything I write, verbatim. I can’t fathom why anyone would want to do this, but it bothers me because it lists every linkback in my incoming links area. It’s basically a huge annoyance. Is there anything I can do about this? What’s this blogger’s deal?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

They are most likely pulling off of your RSS feed.
My suggestion would be to go to settings > reading and set your syndication (feed) to display only summaries, and also cut down on the number of posts to show on the feed (something like 2 or 3).
Other than that, you will have to poke around over at tumblr and see if you can find an email address or something so that you can report it.

You might start with the “help” section. There is a name and email link to the right of the page.
-
It will show the title and maybe a sentence or two and then a link where the person can go to your blog to read the rest of the post.

Oh! I thought you meant on the specific blog’s page… duh! Ok, thanks. I sent them a message about this. We’ll see if anything good happens!

Tumblr is primarily a re-blogging service, but that’s straight-up theft and they won’t support that. They should take action fairly promptly.

Hooray! I got a message from their support team this morning. They suspended the splogger’s account, case closed.
The internet is a little bit nicer now. Thanks all!
