Scratchpad Gallery

  Hello,

  I just added a post with the gallery layout, but it appears as just the title on the front page of my blog (entry “Walking with our Souls”). The images aren’t showing at all until you click into the post.

  I had a look at the gallery help section and there’s nothing like this mentioned there.

  How do I get the gallery to appear as in the Scratchpad preview?

  You’ll want to be sure you’re choosing post formats:

  Also, Scratchpad relies on featured images: they need to be assigned, and they have to be big enough to display like they do in this demo:

  Can you try those steps and let us know if you need more help?

  Hello,

  Thanks for your reply.

  I do have the post type set to ‘gallery’.

  I’m not sure what you mean with featured images or them being assigned. I had wondered why my posts always appeared in full on the main page of my blog, so it could be I just don’t know to do something.

  Thanks for clarifying! If you want to have this posts show just like your other posts, change the post format back to “Standard”. You don’t need to change the post format to add that Gallery Block to the post or to have your post show in full like the others.

  Change that and update the post and see if that changes it to how you expect. Let us know if you still have trouble?

  I don’t want this post to look entirely like others. I want it to look like the gallery post option as shown on the Scratchpad template. Doing what you said makes the photos appear on the main page, but it still doesn’t look like the template example. Why doesn’t marking it as ‘gallery’ do so? It does with the other options like ‘quote’ and so.

  HI there,

  Then you need to select the Gallery post format.

  But it appears that post format isn’t picking up the Tiled Gallery block you’re using in that post, and is only working with the Gallery block at the moment.

  This is a bug, and I’m reporting it to our developers. But Scratchpad is an old theme, so this might not get fixed, in which case using the regular Gallery block is your only option if you want the post format to work correctly.
