Scratchpad Theme – static homepage formatting

    If I set my homepage to display the latest posts, I get the different format (aside style) on top and then each post has the “pencil” image above it. If I set the homepage to a static page, I can’t get the same blocks and icons. I looked through the available blocks and don’t see anything that looks like it.

    I don’t want the complete post on the homepage, just an excerpt with a read more link to the full post. There is a block that does this, but it doesn’t have the formatting.

    Is there a way to do this?

    I really don’t like any of the available themes that say they support full site editing.
