Screen Options check box settings appear to be ignored

    When I save screen options to remove discussion and comments from the page I am editing, they still appear on my page, when I view it. How do I remove discussion and comments? Checking and unchecking the boxes for discussions and comments on screen options in the classic editor seems to make no difference.

    I was able to remove these screen options with the new page editor (beep boop boop), but I can’t see how to switch back from classic to new and back. The new editor lacks some functionality that I rely on.

    Hi there!

    It sounds like you’re only checking and unchecking boxes in the “Screen Options” dropdown. These options don’t adjust whether or not Comments will be allowed on your published post, but rather if you’ll see the Comments options while you edit a post.

    Try this for me:

    1. Open the Screen Options
    2. Keep all the boxes checked(just for now… can always change again after)
    3. Scroll down until you see this Discussion menu
    4. Uncheck both those boxes

    When you publish that post, no comment options will be available for your readers.

    Do you mind if I also ask which features you need are missing from the Beep-Beep-Boop editor?
