Can the combo of WordPress and SCRIBD ever be made to work with any worthwhile reliability?
Having spent hours or days trying to get various uploads to WordPress to work without hanging with no explanation, I then tried SCRIBD.
Despite trumpetting that Macs were supported, the home page of SCRIBD doesn’t have sign up/login buttons at the top right, when accessed via Safari. With Firefox though, the buttons appear.
Incidentally, SCRIBD invites you to try to upload files, and allows you to go through the process of selecting them, without first checking that you’ve logged on or registered. CRAP interface design, of course.
Having registered with SCRIBD, I made another attempt to upload a simple 48k pdf. First of all the default loader, presumably via Flash, didn’t work. No diagnostics were given, just the customary Hanging without comment.
Then the HTML loader was tried, and this time a further stage was achieved, but the loading bar never showed any progress at all. As I have come to expect, Hanging and nothing else.
I’m not simply trying to upload this one file; like most, I’m looking for a system that will allow you maintain a blog without spending as many days as you should spend minutes, every time you want to do anything at all.
Are there any responsible adults involved in WordPress/SCRIBD? Can anything ever get done as it should be???

The SCRIBD issues are not WordPress issues, so please report them to SCRIBD.
If you want to know how something works with WordPress, first look in the WordPress support documents. If you don’t, and what you’re trying isn’t working, then look in the WordPress support documents.

I could try them again; thanks for mentioning it. However, I really wanted to get some kind of feedback from users on whether there was some simple trick to get at least a basic set of operations working.
Like most, I only resorted to the forums when I couldn’t get anywhere with the supports docs – which you referred me to in both of your sentences. The instructions are easy to follow. The problem is, they don’t work. As I said, file uploading doesn’t look trustable.
It might be of interest that when I tried to find my post thread, the key ‘SCRIBD’ didn’t work.
