Scrolling images

Hi all
If you look at rugbyreferee.net I’ve been trying to create the image carousel for my stories but
it doesn’t work, rather stacking the images up. (IThemes2)Any ideas how to resolve? Themify says its a problem linked to WordPress coding and they couldn’t help.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Do you have a link to an example on your site, or perhaps one in draft that I can look at via your dashboard?

If you look at http://www.rugbyreferee.net (rugbyrefereenews.wordpress.com) you’ll see the problem. As far as I know, all those images at the top should be in a scrolling bar showing latest 5 featured post images. (If you compare with the itheme2 demo)
Cheers

You have to set each post you want in the slider as a sticky post. I set the VW post as a sticky in your dashboard and saved it and it now appears as it should.
You can also use the post bulk edit function to set multiple posts as sticky at one time.

@Rich: rugbyrefereeblog had set the posts as stickies. They unstickied them because the blog was malfunctioning: it didn’t produce the posts slider, and the sticky posts also showed in the main content area. See cached page:

Panos, I’m wondering if that has been fixed. I set the one post to sticky and it showed up correctly in their site. Have you tried anything with that theme lately?
I’ll do some digging with the theme team.

Hi – thanks Rich. Hadn’t set each of the ones I wanted as stickies – my reading of the instructions was that you only needed one sticky (in my case the welcome piece) which then kicked in the others to work.
So two questions for clarity:
– I need to set each of the ones I want in the slider area as a sticky?
– Ideally, I do still want the featured one to appear in the normal run through of posts. So what you did with the VW Uruguay post has put it where I wanted it up top, but removed it from main list of posts. Is this fixable? Thanks both

?
Yes, and if you want the welcome post in the slider as well, set a feature image on that post too.

Most sliders will exclude the posts in the slider from the main blog listings so as not to duplicate things. One thing you might thing about doing is to rotate perhaps 5 posts at a time into and out of the slider. Add a new post, add it to the slider and remove the oldest post from the slider. That sort of thing.

@rugbyrefereeblog: iTheme2 is supposed to display a post in the slider only if you mark that particular post as a sticky and set a featured image to it. If you hadn’t marked those posts as stickies they shouldn’t have shown in the slider at all (in which case the bug I saw is the opposite of what I thought).
@Rich: Unfortunately Google updated the cache, so you can no longer see what I wanted you to see (and I can no longer check the source of that cached page to clear up what the situation was). The featured posts area on iTheme2 can display up to 5 sticky posts at a time. When you set more than 5, the area should turn to a slider (with left and right arrows). The problem on the homepage of http://rugbyreferee.net/ was that there a lot more than 5 posts in the f.p. area, but instead of turning into a slider the area had expanded and displayed all the posts in rows of 5.

PS I tried everything I could think of in my tests blog but didn’t manage to replicate the issue.

Update: Turns out I hadn’t thought of everything I should have thought! I found the bug: all the regular posts that have a featured image will show in the featured posts area (the way I described, only it’s rows of 4, not 5) if you don’t sticky any post or if you sticky a post with no featured image. Definitely wacky: at the moment my tests blog is displaying nine rows of thumbnails above the latest post…
