Scrolling Paging
-
Thank You.
But I would like to have numbers with pages at the end of for expample 10 posts.User is scrolling through 10 posts and at the and he sees little numbers referring to pages with another posts. I would like my user to choose for example first page or 10th.
Do you have any templates with that kind of functionality.
Thank you

Hi @piechotadoraju, could you send an example of a site that does what you’re after?
Do you want each post to have its own separate page number as you scroll?
-
Thank you for your answer.
Below I am sending a link to the page where you will find 20 posts. and underneath you’ll find boxes with page numbers. you can go to the fifth page, twenty-third page, the last page, first page again… I am looking for something like that, because I am sure that with a large number of posts nothing will slow down the computer.

Oh, okay, you want pagination at the bottom of the screen.
Can you add a footer to your theme? That will automatically disable infinite scrolling and paginate the pages instead.
-
Thank You.
Yes I have a footer, but there is no way I can change that button “Older posts” to a boxes with numbers.

Hi there,
It doesn’t look like this particular theme you are using supports pagination, unfortunately.
I would suggest either changing to a theme that supports pagination such as Twenty Seventeen or Debut, or you can purchase the Business Plan which allows you many more options for pagination:
Hope this helps, let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks,

Hi there,
I’ve taken a look and that theme does not seem to have that style of pagination for the blog. Sorry for the confusion.
If I’m honest it’s not a style that I see that much anymore with newer themes. The site you pointed to as an example is a site that is using an older theme from the looks of it. I checked in our theme library and did not see any that off this style of pagination instead of the “Older Posts” button.
As staff-doublebassd suggested, it may be necessary to add this via a plugin, which you would need the Business Plan for in this case. For example I found this plugin which might work: https://wordpress.com/plugins/pagination/
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Hey @piechotadoraju,
I’m not sure about Twenty Seventeen. But, you can customize blog pagination in the newest Twenty Twenty-One theme. And, it’s pretty straightforward without using any plugins.
Here’s a quick example I created on my Twenty Twenty-One test site.
I customized the pagination to display 2 pages before and after the current page number. You can increase or decrease that number.
You can also change things like the Newer and Older labels too.
What makes that easy to do is that Twenty Twenty-One uses what’s called a pluggable function to display the pagination. So, customizing pluggable functions makes this a simple code change.
You can learn more here.
I hope that helps. Shout if you have any questions :-)
Good luck!

Wow! This is what im looking for! But can you tell me how to do it? Because I have changed my template and I can’t find this option. Thank You
-
@piechotadoraju – what @marklchaves suggested is for sites using the WordPress software but not hosted here at WordPress.com. These changes would be impossible for you to do unless you upgrade to the Business plan which would allow you to install plugins and access your site via SFTP.
What they shared isn’t an option you can select but something that you would need to code by hand to modify your theme files via SFTP. If you upgrade to a yearly Business plan, you would also have access to priority email and live chat support where they can help advise how to do this, within reason.
I hope that clarifies things!

OK. I Have a problem. Such a simple thing! Are there any templates with this functions? Even paid?

Hello there,
For pagination, you may wish to look at these themes: https://en-gb.wordpress.org/themes/search/pagination/
Is there another function that you require?
Many thanks.

Hello there,
It’s possible to use these themes, however the sites would need to be on the business plan. Much like adding a plugin to get this functionality.
Outside of that, on the current plan the themes available use an “Older posts” button to show more posts.
I hope this clears up any confusion.
