Scrolling testimonials

Hi! Can you send a link to your site, and also send a link to a site that has the effect you want? We’ll check it out and point you in the right direction for support.

Example of site with scrolling testimonials
http://www.wordswerk.com -
Hi there,
The site wordswerk.com is using a WordPress “plugin” that adds functionality that is not built in to WordPress.com by default. To add the same plugin they are using would require upgrading to our Business plan however.
The WordPress.com Business Plan would allow you to upload any plugin or theme “built for WordPress” such as the Elementor plugin in use on wordswerk.com. Learn more about our WordPress.com Business Plan here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
However, one option you could consider as a workaround it to type up your testimonials in a text app on your computer (or a blank page in WordPress) and then take screenshots of it so you have an image of each. This would allow you to add the images (of testimonials) into the Slideshow block: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/slideshow-block/
In this way, using screenshots of testimonials can be made to appear as testimonials in a rotating slideshow.
Hope this helps point you in the right direction!

Thanks – I’ll try it! Also, I’m trying to put an image in site icon for the browser; but it keeps filling with just black rather than the image. I’ve tried multiple images. Why is it doing that?
-
https://anecessaryconversation.wordpress.com/ yes? When I visit that site I see a nice looking logo in the header.
Were you able to sort this out on your own, or did you need a hand still?
-
The logo is there – I’m having trouble with the Favicon. Background is set to black in code – keep trying to change it.
The last question I have is in the three columns on the home page. I want the three images to serve as links as well as the text inside them (far right is a picture, so that image would need to link as well if possible).
Do you know how to do this? It doesn’t give me the option.

Hmmm. my screenshot showing up for you?

Hi there,
It’s not possible to attach a screenshot to forums posts in that way. To share a screenshot with us, you can upload it to the Media Library on your site, and then copy the image URL. You can see a video of how to do this here: https://d.pr/v/Fcnerp
Once you have the image URL just paste it into your reply and we will be able to see your screenshot, thanks!

It sounds like you are seeing something different from what I see on my end. I see this:
However, when you update the favicon, it can be 48 or more hours until it updates for all visitors. In your case it’s likely that your old favicon is being cached by your browser. You can try clearing your cache to see if you see the new favicon. Also you can do nothing an it will update over time.
The fact I see something else is a good sign that you set your new Favicon correctly, so I would say not to worry too much, you should see it soon. :)
The last question I have is in the three columns on the home page. I want the three images to serve as links as well as the text inside them (far right is a picture, so that image would need to link as well if possible).
If you look closely at the settings for the image block, you can see there is a place to link a URL so you can link the image. Did you manage to set links for the ones on your homepage? I noticed when I click them they take me to other pages, but the URLs you added to not seem correct.
Instead of https://wordpress.com/page/anecessaryconversation.wordpress.com/76 for example (which is a private URL to the page editor) you will want to use this public link instead: https://anecessaryconversation.wordpress.com/services/
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

I don’t mean to be thick, but then what is the link for training & affiliations? https://anecessaryconversation.wordpress.com/training&affiliations/ ?
-
The link for that page is https://anecessaryconversation.wordpress.com/training-affiliations/
To find that link, easiest is to view the page directly in your browser – the page itself, not the editor or the preview – and then copy the URL from the address bar.
You can also get that link from inside the editor, under the Permalink tab:
