Scurrilous clickbait ads appearing prominently in page
-
I have no problem with adverts, I know they’re necessary. However, I revisited an old blog to find that a set of really scurrilous clickbait-type ads, often with disgusting images or advertising medical scams, have been added right under the first post as it appears on the homepage – https://heartlandroad.wordpress.com/
The blog is a poetry and art blog, and these ads are completely at odds with the tone of it, as well as being often disgusting to look at, and I’m embarrassed to be associated with this kind of scam clickbait. Examples: ‘This Simple Tip Prevents Joint Pain and Arthritis. Try it Now!’ (picture of unidentified yellow goop in jars). ‘Bone on Bone Knee Pain? Try This! Says Top Doc’ (picture of knees in surgical supports). And I didn’t even take a note of the caption below the picture of someone with a handful of maggots…
Again, I’m not against advertising, but I need it to be somewhat respectable and not offputting, dumb and probably illegal (there are laws against selling medical misinformation).
How can I get my blog advertising to be halfway presentable and not an embarrassment? I’m hoping the answer is not ‘pay a subscription’, because I feel like a site as big as WordPress should surely be able to get decent advertisers?

Hello there,
Ads that you see on your blog or website aren’t visible to me. If you are the only one seeing the ads on your blog, then there is probably a problem with your browser extension or bad cookies (try clearing your history).
Additionally, You can send a screenshot of the ad and the URL that the ad links to via the form at https://wordpress.com/support/about-these-ads/ if you believe it is inappropriate.
The team will review it and will take the necessary actions.
Hope this helps! :)
