Seamless Transfer to WordPress
-
Hi, my name is Steve Bento and I am a member of Made4me (https://made4me.org). We are a registered 501c3 charitable organization. Our mission is to help improve the lives of people with special needs by building special adaptations for them.
We are currently using iPage to provide our domain, website, and email. This was set up before I joined and we are outgrowing the capabilities of this provider.
Our end goal is to have the domain and website hosted by WordPress, email hosted by Gmail, and use G Suite to provide shared calendars, documents, etc.
I have done lots of webbage, but for big companies, so changing providers is not something I’ve done before. The goal is to not have any downtime for our website.
Is there some kind of ‘Guide to Transitioning an Existing Service to WordPress’? :-)
If not, how can we get set up in WordPress and then ‘throw the switch’ so we can change hosting providers and not have our site go dark for any length of time?
Thanks in advance for your help!
