  Hi Jacwms

  If you go to WordPress.com and then click on “My Sites”, you should see the site you’re trying to update. Click on that, then click “Customize” from the menu. From there, you should see a “Widgets” option. In that area, you’ll see the parts of your site that support widgets (sidebar, footer, etc). Click which area you’d like to work in, then “Add Widget”. In that list, you’ll find the Search widget which will search your site.

  how can I add a search to my website?

  To add a search bar t your website, you can use the search widget.
  Go to
  – My Site – Customizer – Widget
  – Locate where you want to add the search(ex: sidebar or footer)
  – click on “Add a widget” button
  – add “Search” widget from the widget options.
