  not sure if this has been covered before…I searched for ‘search’ but, hey!, you can guess the rest.

  On blogger it is possible to customise the functionality of your search box. That would be awesome for wordpress.com. Specifically what I would like is
  1. Control over the sites searched eg my blog + my website + an industry directory + a related blog … that sort of thing ie you add approved URLs to your search box
  2. Control over the results. I can’t see how the current scenario of returning potentially lots of pages in their entireiy is of much use to anyone. Google display results how they do for a reason…people want it that way. I would like to be able to display results as a simple list of pages or as the url+excerpt or as ‘at present’
  3. alternatively allow the integration of a 3rd party custom search engine such as provided by google.

  I imagine this is not easy to implement!!! but it would be useful
