Search bar and background color

Hi,
I added a search bar to my site and chose the option to align it to the right side of the page but when I view my site the search bar is on the left side of the page. Will you please tell me how to put the search bar on the right side of the page?
If I want to change the background color in the header how do I do so? I am not able to get the header color another color besides black. Is that because the theme I am using does not allow for changing the header background?

In my footer how could I get the navigation menu and my social media show in two columns that are in line with each other? I thought that I had set the footer to columns but I guess I didn’t.

Hi there,
I have not been able to have the search bar stay on the right side of the page.
After taking a closer look on my test site, this appears to be a bug with the theme, which we will report to the theme developers to address.
In the meantime, as a workaround you can add a columns block to your header, and then add a search block within the right-hand column. This is difficult to explain in words but here is a video you can watch to see how it is done: https://d.pr/v/7FTJXr

I noticed that you seem to have put your footer navigation menu within it’s own columns block (set to one column) and I think if you want your social icons to be inline with those it will help to expand the block to be 2 columns and then add your social icons into the second column. Why am I not able to see the words in the navigation menu in my header when I am in the customizer? I use to be able to see them. I must have changed something to have them not appear but I don’t know what I changed.

Let’s work on each question one at a time.
Why am I not able to see the words in the navigation menu in my header when I am in the customizer?
When I visit the site, I am able to see the text
BRAINBOMBS AND CHRONICPAINabove the menu items, and next to the site icon. It appears in both desktop and mobile views. Is there a different set of text that you are looking for in that header space?Will you please tell me what I did wrong in the footer since the screenshot you did and the one I did do not look the same?
The current footer on the site is set up in 2 columns like the video demonstrated. I noticed that the text and icons in the second column are reversed. Did you need help with flipping those around to match the video? If there’s anything else about the footer that I missed please let me know so I can help you get this all squared away.
Take another look at the footer and see if it is now how you want it to be. I switched the right hand column so that it matched what the video demonstrated. In order to do that, I had to work with the cascading template on the left hand side of the screen, like the video shows. I dragged and dropped them in to the order that I thought you wanted (and we can easily fix if not).
Please tell me how to attach a screenshot on the forum. I forgot how to do so.
That snip link works for us. You can also add it to your media library on the site and we can see it there. That would be my preference from a security perspective in case the screen shot had any personal details, or was of sensitive nature that you didn’t want shared in a public forum.

In the video the first column in the header had the words in three rows of all the words I have four words of the words. How do I get to have three rows of words like in the video?
I know that I changed the follow on social media and the icons I did want the follow me words to be on top of the social media icons.
When I am in the editor this is what I see in the header
I am unable to see the words of the menu. I use to be able to see those words but not I am unable to see them and I do not know why.
I also forgot how to get the “box” around words like you did for the words brainbombs and chronic pain. Will you please tell me how to get the “box”

How do I put the footer in all my posts and pages?
You need to edit the “Footer” template to have that content appear in the footer of every post and page. Here’s how to do that:

You need to edit the “Single” template and move the group containing the Comment block using the arrows in the toolbar. Here’s a screenshot of how to do that:

You have to edit both the header and footer templates in the Site Editor to have the content displayed across all your posts and pages.

The Site Editor will then load the front page of your site. To edit your site’s footer:
Go to Appearance → Editor in the left sidebar of your site dashboard
Scroll to the bottom of the screen and select the Footer.
Click on any block in the footer to edit it, or on one of the + plus sign icons to add a new block.The above is what the link said that you sent

You need to edit the template part titled “footer”.

This is the same as with the footer. You need to edit the template part named “Header”.

You would need to set the footer layout to horizontal as seen here:

I’d like to check what you mean here – are you expecting to see the header when editing via Pages?

This is what those of you who are helping me do not seem to be understanding. Do you see the comment box in the editor when you look at my editor using your computer or however you view my editor?
This may be because the pill shape is wider and so you would need to alter the row widths.
Please tell me how to adjust the row widths and what I should adjust the widths to be.

The header does show words on my post and pages on the website.
The header does not show in the editor when I am looking on my post and pages. Is the header supposed to show then?

You don’t need to add the comment box in each of your posts through the editor. The comment box gets added automatically at the end of each post as long as you’ve enabled that in the post’s settings (https://wordpress.com/support/comments/#on-a-post-or-page).

The header is a separate element, and it’s not shown in the post editor.
