search bar in front of tabs

  Is there a way to remove the search box or make it smaller so the page tab behind it can be seen?

  If you do not have a custom design upgrade it cannot be removed. If you do have that upgrade see here > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/removing-top-right-search-box-in-mistylook?replies=6#post-354990

  If you go to appearance > theme options in mistylook, you can hide the search box above the header image.

  No need to worry about your memory. You know how WP is, adding and changing things quietly and not letting anyone know (most of the time).
