Search bar widget malfunction twenty twelve theme.

    I can’t figure out why my search box widget isn’t working right at http://martiananthro.org/. As I begin to type it refreshes the page before I can do anything. I am using a custom twenty twelve theme.

    Hi there,

    I took a look at your widgets, and I think I found the issue. In your first text widget, you create a link to your home page with the HTML a tag, but you never close it with an ending a tag. If you need, here’s a page that shows the tags you need to start and end a link: http://www.echoecho.com/htmllinks01.htm

    Because the link isn’t being closed, all of the widgets after it (including the search box) have that same link to your home page. So when you click in the search box, it takes you to the link — that is, your home page. That’s what makes it look like the page is refreshing.

    If you close the link in your text widget, that should clear up this problem. Please let me know if you have any questions about that! :)
