Search box: how do i change colors?

I have a search box widget on my blog, but it’s hard to see. My background is black and so it the search box. I’d like to make it stand out more so that readers will see it more easily. Is there any way i can change the background color to my Search Box?

The search box is in the top left corner, and we’d like it to stand out more… it’s black just like the black background. ??
