search does not come up with my blogs

I have posted a few blogs on hot tub topics such as how to clean your cover etc.. It has been over 5 months and when I do a search for a similar topic in wordpress my articles are not coming up. As an example “cleaning hot tub cover” should bring up my blog??

    Please Help!

    Dan

How about a link to your blog?

You’d find that there are quite a few threads on this topic if you’d searched the forums.
You can go to http://www.google.com/addurl/ to add your url so that google knows you exist :)

Google in particular has been fiddling with the way WP.com blogs are indexed. I’m kind of annoyed by it, since I see my own local tag coming up in the search results before my actual posts. I hope someone at Automattic is giving them heck about it.

What have they been doing? And what are its effects?

My blog is http://windpowerlaw.wordpress.com. I recently got sacked by Google and I can’t figure out why. A search for the terms -New York wind power law-, which is directly on point, put me routinely in the top 5 on MSN/Live search and Yahoo, but nothing on Google. Random pages buried in the fifth or sixth page of results if I’m lucky.

My stats took a huge dive just a few days ago, presumably because of this Google issue. Whereas weekly stats had been on a steady incline, they’re now dipping, I’m surmising because there’s no traffic being generated by Google.

    Anyone with ideas on this?

Only that this is perfectly congruent to my experience.

Every few months Google re-jiggers the way they order things, and the last one deeply penalized blogs in favor of standard websites. I am still seeing referrals from Google, but only on things I’m MASSIVELY dominating. I used to be on the front page for Cthulhu, but now I’m not in the top five pages. And I made two Cthulhu posts yesterday, tagged and everything.

Google may be trying to push blogs to JUST the blogsearch and off the main Google site. If that’s not what they’re deliberately trying to do, that is the effect nonetheless and they really need to think about that long and hard. All we can do is bitch to Google, though.

Thank you raincoaster! Agreed on the every few months item, too. Dag them googlers!
