search engine error
-
I received this email from Yandex search engine:-
‘When our indexing bots tried to download data from https://bccprojects19711973.wordpress.com, the server was unavailable due to a DNS error. If the indexing bots can’t access the server, the site might disappear from search results. It’s also possible that users are likewise unable to reach the site.’
What does it mean? How can I fix the problem? I made this site public some weeks ago and it still isn’t appearing in searches.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @gpozzani, there shouldn’t have been a DNS error. Can you try running it again to see if the error is consistently coming back?
You might also try some of the other search consoles to see if other search engines are reporting the same issue:

I tried to search for
‘https://bccprojects19711973.wordpress.com/’
in Google and got the reply
‘Your search – https://bccprojects19711973.wordpress.com/ – did not match any documents.’
Tried the same search in yahoo and only got hits on sites offering to host websites.
Similar result with Bing.Sorry for the delay in following this up.

Hi there,
I don’t see anything wrong with your site. Please ask Yandex to re-scan your site.
Also note that, once your site is launched and made public, it can take search engines a few weeks to crawl the site, index it, and begin including it their search results.
You can see more about that here:

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
You said ‘launched and made public’. Are these two separate things or does making a site ‘public’ mean that it is ‘launched’? If not how do you ‘launch’ a site?
I made this site public in July.

Hi there,
Yes, they are the same thing – when launching the site, you are making it accessible to public view.
