Search engine plugins confusion

  why are there plugins advertised for WP for search engines, but WP says they aren’t needed? Is my blog “plugged into” google, bing, etc. without me doing anything?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there! Plugins are only usable on self-hosted WordPress.org sites. Your site, http://bfblogger.com/, is hosted here at WordPress.com, so you don’t have to worry about manually submitting to search engines. Every time your site is updated or edited, we send that out to search engines such as Google and Bing.
