Search engine problems
-
Hi at the start of Feb I had notification from wordpress that my blog had been hidden from search engines and that it was now rectified, on searching for it this week I can see that there is an error with the robots.txt and shows the following error
‘A description for this result is not available because of this site’s robots.txt – ‘
If you follow the link the site displays in html code only so not very readable.Ive looked through the settings and cant fathom any way to correct this. My blog is
https://reignoffireblog.wordpress.com/ and the search result is from ‘Regin of fire everblight’The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi, there.
When I search for that term, it’s your site’s RSS feed that comes up at the top of the results, along with that error message. Here’s the address for the feed.

Here’s your robots.txt.

It’s not disallowing the feed to search engines.
I suspect that the issue will correct itself. If the site had been set to hide from search engines previously, it sometimes takes quite awhile for the engines to crawl and index again.
Here’s some other good general info about how the search engines work, and how WordPress.com sites relate to them.

I hope this information helps.

Oh, one other thing.
The reason that result displays as it does instead of as a standard looking web page is that it’s a feed from your site, meant to be read by a feed reader, not a browser. Here’s a good description of that.
Please feel free to reply back if you have any questions about all of this.
