Search engine question!

  Hi,

  I wrote a blog approximately two months ago and yet it still hasn’t entered the search engines. If I type in the subject matter or any of the keywords associated with my piece it simply does not appear in any of the search results, not even 2 months on. Why is this? Have I done something wrong? I’ve been trying everything I can think of and still have had no luck. The piece is here:

  Hi Keeley,

  It looks like what you created was a page not a post, but you’re correct in saying it’s not been indexed by Google yet. Can you check you have your privacy settings on Public and not Hidden.

  Hi,

  Thanks very much for your helpful nreply! I checked and I had my settings set to ‘Public’ so I still have no idea why the search engine indexing isn’t working. I’ve been trying for ages to change my blog from a page to a post but it’s so large (almost 14,000 words!) and I’ve spent so much time and effort on it that I’m scared of it getting deleted in the process! Any ideas?

  Your revisions will be automatically saved so if something messes up you can quickly jump back to a previous version. It’s a long post so you’ll probably need to just get copying and pasting, there isn’t a quick way to switch from one to another. You could split it into multiple posts and publish it in a serialized way, then you can worry about one section at a time.
