Search Engine Results
-
Hi there!
I recently googled my website to see what would show up and first my Contact Me then my About Me menu pages show up in the search engine and 3rd is my homepage to the website. Why is this happening? Is there a way to make my homepage the first thing on the list?
Thank you for your help!

Google determines search engine results for a given search term. If your site is showing up as the top three results, that’s a good start.
What you might focus on is getting your website to show up for searches without your name, such as “Orange County photographer”. That will take some time, but if you include that phrase in blog posts (and particularly in excerpts, which are really useful for Google), that should help.

Hi! Thank you so much for helping!
Can you give me any pointers on how to get “Orange County Photographer” (or whatever phrase) to become noticed? I am fairly new to SEO.
Any and all help is so appreciated!
Hugs,

Like I said, the easiest thing to do is use that phrase in your blog once you start creating posts. Do it naturally as part of a post, don’t just plop it in there artificially for search engines. Over time it will get picked up. The same thing can work for other phrases you want to rank for in Google.

Thank you!!! :)
If you don’t mind, can you help me with something else too?
The header length on my site appears perfect on computers/laptop and phones but when I go to look at it on the IPad, the header length appears really long so the whole site is shifted to the left side with an extra long blue line of a header going off to the right.
I have the Mobile Theme turned on.
I have tried going into the CSS and making it the same length as the menu beneath the header but it then appears to be too short on the computer/laptop.
What can I do to make the header appear in line with the menu on the tablet/IPad?
Thank you :)
