Search engine stats inconsistent
-
Hello,
I’ve noticed for a few weeks time that stats for traffic from search engine’s is inconsistent. For example today:
Referrers box shows: search engines 14
However in the search engine terms box the sum of the list is 8 hits and to complicate things further, if you count the individual line items give a sum of 11.
Often times the Search engine terms box has about half of the number of search engine hits in the referrers box.
Is this a universal issue or is there some explanation to this?
All the best,
Sigurður -
Is this the blog you are referring to? http://forrettindafeminismi.wordpress.com/
Have you read the site stats entry in the support documentation?

Some search engines don’t reveal search terms for privacy reasons. That’s why we don’t always know which search terms were used by visitors who arrived at your site from a search engine. When we don’t know the search terms, we show them as “Unknown search terms”.

Hi, Yes this is the blog and I have read the referred documentation. One of the line items in the search engine terms box is “unknown search terms”. I would have expected the number in this box to add up to the total number of search engine referrals as listed in the referrals box?
