Search engine traffic vanished!

  • Unknown's avatar

We’ve been getting maybe 20-30 hits a day from the search engines, with a long funny list every day of search terms people used to find our blog. Then a week ago the traffic completely dried up. Not one search engine hit. We still come up in Google, and I have the “allow search engines” box checked in the privacy options, so what could be the problem?

    Gracias!

It might be Google. They usually have alot of problems with this. Check and see if you have incoming links from MSN because their spiders index much better and quicker than Google.

Need examples please to see what’s occuring.

My guess would be that Google was picking up on word occurances on your home page and, now that you’ve done more posts since then, it now sees different word occurances now.

Google always runs a few weeks behind. Linuxuser had the same issue a few weeks ago.

Thanks guys. I guess it’s just luck of the draw then with what you’ve been blogging about. But at least I know what’s going on.
